I am 32 years old.
I live in small village on the western border of Vermont, where I am joined by my lovely wife and our feisty little cat. While the former smiles at all who enter our home, the latter plots to rip eyes from sockets. Both are cute as hell.
83% of my waking hours are spent sitting at my Mac. I am usually doing one of three things: working on a piece of writing; playing ChessPro on Facebook (challenge me); or surfing the web in a bout of enlightening procrastination.
Academic Life
I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theories of Writing from Green Mountain College and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing degree from Goddard College.
In the Fall of 2009, I began teaching as an Adjunt in Creative Writing at Green Mountain College. The classes I've taught include:
- Environmental Liberal Arts 1500: Voices of Community: A Writing Seminar
- English 2015: Introduction to Creative Writing
- English 3015: Writing Workshop--Once & Again: A Workshop in Creative Revision
- English 3017: Writing Workshop--Creating Worlds for Speculative Fiction
Professional Life
I've worked in the recruitment advertising industry for just over a decade. While I've had a number of job titles over the years, my duties have always included a mix of writing advertising copy for multimillion dollar clients, project-managing various online projects, and contributing to short- and long-term corporate strategies. I've also done freelance work as a writing and marketing specialist.
Virtual Life
If you're the kind of person who likes to virtually stalk other people, you can be my friend on Facebook, follow me on Twitter, track my reading habits on GoodReads, eavesdrop on my musical obsessions via Last.fm, and follow my shared links on Google Reader.
